Live Music on a Wild River

Sand between our toes, stars over our heads, and sweet music in our ears

River trips are already amazing, multi-sensory experiences; exciting rapids, stunning campsites, tasty meals, and fresh air; how can we make them better?

Add the magic, spontaneity, and pure joy of nightly, live, riverside music from professional musicians!

ARTA and Sisters Folk Festival have teamed up to bring you the “Going Rogue” summer music series. Sisters Folk Festival (Sisters, Oregon) has been producing world-class music festivals and events since 1995, in addition to strengthening their community and inspiring others through year-round educational programming and partnerships with local schools and community organizations. The partnership with ARTA and SFF is a natural fit, and we’re thrilled to bring some of the best folk and Americana musicians along for the ride. It’s a one-of-a-kind, magical, musical, mind-blowing experience on the already incredible Wild and Scenic Rogue River.

These are river trips like no others!

It’s a confluence made in heaven.

Throughout their performance, voices are paired with an ever-changing amalgamation of acoustic and slide guitar, upright bass, harmonica, and an array of vocal techniques that create an engaging and often emotionally moving live show. Their music delves deeply into themes of the human experience: hopeful love, honest self-reflection, and pursuits of social justice.

Going Rogue with Tim O’Brien & Jan Fabricius

John Craigie - brings his music to the Rogue River

Tim O’Brien is a legend in the folk and bluegrass world. The Grammy-winning singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist first came on the bluegrass scene with Colorado’s Hot Rize starting in 1978. His songs have since been covered by New Grass Revival, Kathy Mattea and Garth Brooks and recorded with the likes of Steve Earle, Mark Knopfler and Sturgill Simpson. The International Bluegrass Music Association has twice awarded him with Song of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year prizes.

Tim O’Brien performs in a duet setting with his partner Jan Fabricius on harmony vocals. Featuring his solid guitar, fiddle, and mandolin, the shows cover a range of original compositions and traditional arrangements mixed with stories and Tim’s self-deprecating humor. https://timobrien.net/
