Xander Guldman, river guide for ARTA River Trips

Xander’s life has been going downhill since he was five. That’s when his mom and dad (both former river guides) moved the family from the Bay Area to Truckee and Xander discovered the mountains and, more formatively, gravity.

Whether by ski, bike, kayak, raft, foot, sled, or younger-brother-inspired-and-improvised “other”, Xander has found his way up and then quickly back down the mountains of North and South America. His comfort with descendance has been transcendent (video proof here). Between descents, Xander is steadily navigating his way through the flatlands of UC Davis, studying International Relations and Spanish with an eye on a career in medicine and an eventual home, naturally, near something steep.
