Southern Oregon has two of the west’s most stunningly beautiful rivers, the Scenic (and Wild) Rogue and the Wild (and Scenic)
Illinois
.
Our whitewater river rafting trips on the
Rogue River
are wonderful family vacations with warm water and incredible wildlife in a canyon that is sublimely beautiful with lush green hillsides and crystal clear creeks; plus, as a bonus, there are numerous fun and lively rapids.
The
Illinois River
, on the other hand, is the Wild one, where the rapids tend to overshadow the scenery, (but just barely). Numerous Class IV rapids, many without names, are spread throughout a spectacular canyon with bedrock gorges, thickly forested hillsides and waterfalls around every bend.
Appropriately, both rivers are protected in the National Wild and
Scenic
Rivers
system.
