Like her arboreal namesake, Willow's roots are in the water. Both her mother and uncle guided for us in the 1970s and she's been part of our river family since her first ARTA trip at age ten. Now, after attending whitewater school and guiding for five seasons, she finds herself growing even more attached to the river. This does not come without a price, for Willow has aspirations that may not lend themselves to her being firmly anchored. She wants to return to Italy where she spent her junior year of college; she is interested in writing, both creatively and journalistically; and she is contemplating graduate school in literature. Until she decides, we're thankful we can find her flourishing by the river, where she belongs.
